BlackBerry Development Fundamentals

What people have said about the book:

"What really amazed me about this book was that I learned quite a few things I never knew about the BlackBerry platform and I am not even a developer. Wargo does a brilliant job of explaining the whole infrastructure behind the BlackBerry ranging from BIS to BES to MDS to Push Services to all the different BlackBerry browsers."

One of the things I wanted to include in the book but ended up not having room for was a chapter that covered how to build a BlackBerry Web Services client in Java. I ended up writing a series of articles on the topic at www.johnwargo.com. The articles cover building a web service in Domino, generating the Java stub used to talk to the service then building the Java application that allows the web service to be consumed on the BlackBerry. Here are links to the articles:

You don't have to be a Domino developer to make use of these articles - just skip Part 1 if you don't care about the Domino aspect of the project.
