First Review of the Book PDF Print E-mail

Jason Hook from notesberry.org published a review of BlackBerry Development Fundamentals this morning. It's really great. If you're thinking about buying the book and you're not sure, read Jason's review - he very clearly describes the target audiences for the book.  Here's the article: BlackBerry Development Fundamentals Reviewed. Enjoy!

Available at Target PDF Print E-mail

I found BlackBerry Development Fundamentals at Target this morning, see below. This isn't that unexpected since Amazon runs Target's online presence, but still funny to see a book on BlackBerry development for sale at Target.

It's Done!!! PDF Print E-mail

It's done, finished, complete! I wrapped up the last review and updates to the manuscript on Friday and BlackBerry Development Fundamentals has been shipped off to the printer. Should be on shelves in three weeks and a quantity of them will be on sale at the BlackBerry Developer Conference in November.

I received a pre-release copy of the book today and it was really great to finally hold it in my hands - color cover and all. Here it is:

Almost Done! PDF Print E-mail

OK, I'm almost done. I reviewed all of the figures this weekend and I should be seeing the final proof of the book in the next couple of days. The book is still on schedule to be finished (locked down, no further changes) on the 16th then it goes off to the printer. What this means then is that BlackBerry Development Fundamentals won't actually be in stock anywhere until about three weeks later. So, that being said - I've updated the counter at the top of the page to inidicate that it will be in stock November 9th, the first day of the BlackBerry Developer's Conference in San Francisco. As I hear more about the schedule, I'll update it and let all of you know. I apologize for having the date wrong, when I heard October 16th, I thought that meant October 16th - but now I know that there are more steps in the process. Stay Tuned.

Issue with Free Trials at Safari PDF Print E-mail

I apologize, but I just learned that the free trial of Safari only provides access to books after they've been published. For those of you who have signed up for free trials at Safari to start reading the book - I'm sorry but I guess you won't be able to read it until after it ships.  so very sorry for the confusion.
